Use one brief
Give each quoting provider the same model details, photographs, location and proposed outcome. State whether the product is already on site. Ask whether the estimate assumes prepared openings and existing compatible connections.
Identify exclusions such as disposal, trade connections, wall repair, trim, painting, permit fees and difficult access. A shorter scope can look like a lower price until these items are added.
Resolve uncertainty visibly
Ask how concealed conditions are priced and approved. Require permission for changes before extra work proceeds. Keep optional items separate so the core job remains clear.
Confirm business identity, qualifications relevant to the work, insurance, payment terms and who stands behind labour and product issues. The site catalogue does not verify an individual provider.
Close the loop
Agree the checks, demonstration and cleanup that end the installation. Keep the written quotation and the final record together. If an existing item must leave first, connect Removing; if the project renews an existing item, start with Replacing.
Make the plan practical.
Use the project planner to organize your own details, then choose the scopes that fit. HAUSE reviews enquiries; availability, qualifications, fees and terms are confirmed individually.
Use the plannerAuthoritative starting points
For older materials, read Health Canada’s asbestos guidance. For connected equipment, use the actual manufacturer’s installation and care manuals and confirm requirements with the responsible local authority and qualified provider.
